Midwest transplant, Brandon Anthony, grew up on the stage in Indiana, performing professionally and choreographing musical theater before receiving his BFA in theater, music, and dance from The Theater School Conservatory of DePaul University in Chicago. It was while in Chicago, Brandon spontaneously walked into his first Equinox gym looking for a part time front desk job to do between shows, and his love affair with fitness began.
After making the move to Los Angeles in 2009, it wasn't long before the Equinox group fitness manager plucked him away from the desk and gave him his first dance class. He spent the next 4 years learning every format he could, eventually teaching Dance, Cycling, Deep Work, Metabolic Conditioning, HIIT, Kettle Bells, and many other classes. During that time, Brandon co-developed a dance program for YogaWorks - "DanceWorks", built a base of LA dancers at multiple studios across the Greater Los Angeles area, and continued his work as a choreographer. Finding success as a teacher and celebrity trainer in LA, he became known for his hard but fun fitness classes, sexy emotional choreography, and carefree but hardcore attitude. His classes were featured in SELF Magazine twice, The Los Angeles Times, and on E! Entertainment. He spent the next couple years working in NYC before moving to Vienna, Austria to be with his then fiance.
It was during his time in Vienna that he began to formulate Movement2Music. While studying theater in Chicago, Brandon had taken a freestyle movement for actors class called that changed his life. While the purpose of the training was geared towards acting, the work became something different for Brandon. It became Therapy. Something he could do all alone in a studio to find peace and clarity. He decided to create a class that shared that feeling with Everyone. Not just actors in school, but people of all backgrounds. Not for the purpose of creating a character, but for finding your own.
Brandon made the move back to Los Angeles in the fall of 2015 and married his best friend the following spring. Since returning to the states, he's rejoined YogaWorks as DanceWorks Master Trainer, shared Movement2Music with thousands of people, created his signature music and emotion powered fitness class, "Brandon's BodyROCK", and launched his cannabis infused CannabisDANCE and CannabisFIT workshops in LA and NYC. As an athlete and trainer using cannabis to treat asthma, anxiety, and chronic pain, Brandon has become an outspoken advocate for Nationwide cannabis legalization. By combining cannabis with movement and body work, he hopes to help the world shift away from thinking of cannabis as a drug and move towards understanding it as medicine, and the incredible tool that it can be.
